SKAM Austin

SKAM Austin is an American teen drama web television series, based on the Norwegian web series Skam, created by Julie Andem. It premiered with its first full episode on April 27, 2018 on Facebook Watch.

The series uses the same basic setup as the original Norwegian production, releasing a short clip on a daily basis on Facebook Watch, supplemented with screenshots of text messages between the characters and real social media accounts allowing insights into the lives of the fictional characters. This is a remarkable new narrative form, perhaps related to hyperdrama. I find this exciting but a traditionalist might find double-meaning in the title.
