When I have a discussion with a “Trumper,” here are two things that become quite apparent.

First, Trumpers cannot separate fact from fiction. They firmly believe that 2 plus 2 equals 5. No matter how much proof is provided, how much verifiable factual evidence is presented, they simply do not understand the truth. This observation supports the Trump theory that if you tell a lie enough times, a majority will believe the fallacy to be true.

Secondly, during the discussion you will discover that they are shameless. Their support of a leader who is a liar, narcissist, womanizer, boorish and unqualified is without qualms. Trump supporters have allowed themselves to be conned and see no problem.

Trump has said things about veterans, POWs, women and minorities that have brought shame and embarrassment to our country, but he has the support of his base.

Rather than have a discussion with a Trump supporter, it is better to just say that they can have their opinions but not their own facts. No matter what they believe, truth is truth.
